Bacon 64 bit!
There is a pre compiled 64 bit version of Bacon available for any Debian based Linux distro such as Debian, all Ubuntu derivatives, Linux Mint, CrunchBang and many others. You can find it for download on the main Bacon site here, there are two packages you will want to download. They are both listed under the downloads section. The first file you want is this BaCon file and then the GUI file for the IDE.
You should find both files in your download folder, these are installable files using a package installer called GDebi. To see if you have GDebi installed, go to your menu and look under the "System Tools" heading and see if it is there.
Install Gdebi!
If you do not have GDebi installed then we will need to install it first before installing the Bacon files. We will be using a terminal app called "apt-get" to do this so fire up your favorite terminal and lets get started.
In the terminal, I would like you to type the following and then hit enter:
sudo apt-get install gdebi
you will then be asked for your password so type it in and hit enter. When it is done installing, close your terminal app.

Install Bacon!
Open your file manger and double click on your download folder, you will find the two files you downloaded earlier. One is called "bacon_2.2.0-1_amd64.deb" and the other is "bacongui_2.2.0-1_amd64.deb". Double click on the first one and GDebi should open and give you the option to install the package, click the "Install" button. When it is done, double click the next one and install it too.
BaCon is now installed on your system! To start programming in BaCon, open a terminal and type "bacongui-gtk3" and the BaCon IDE should pop up. Have fun!

Put It In The Menu!
If you are like me, you would like to have BaCon listed in your menu system so you don't have to start it from the terminal/command line. Download this file and this icon.
Move the bacon.desktop file to /usr/share/applications and the bacon.png to /usr/share/pixmaps folders. You should now see BaCon listed under the Programming heading in your menu system.
Have fun!
