The copy statement is used to copy a file from one place to another. In Bacon code you will see it as COPY . It will then be followed by it's parameters. Think of the parameters as what you want COPY to do.
The Setup:
If you have not made a "Projects" folder on your hard drive yet then go ahead and do so. Next make a new folder in your projects folder named "Copy". In that folder make two more folders named "folder1" and "folder2". Put a text file of some kind in folder1 and name it "My_File.txt"
The Code:
COPY "file" TO "new file"
To use COPY, simply put the file you want to copy after COPY in quotes and where you want it to go after TO in quotes. It might look like this:
COPY "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder1/My_File.txt" TO "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder2/My_File.txt"
To use COPY, simply put the file you want to copy after COPY in quotes and where you want it to go after TO in quotes. It might look like this:
COPY "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder1/My_File.txt" TO "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder2/My_File.txt"
You could also use COPY to move the file and change the name of the file at the same time. It might look like this:
COPY "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder1/My_File.txt" TO "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder2/Your_File.txt"
COPY "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder1/My_File.txt" TO "/home/your name/Projects/Copy/folder2/Your_File.txt"
Have Fun!
Have fun playing with COPY and seeing what you can do with it!
